Tom Shepherd's goal fifteen minutes from time secured a 1-0 victory for Newquay AFC over Wadebridge Town, keeping the Peppermints at the summit of the South West Peninsula Premier West.

Newquay now sit six points clear of Liskeard Athletic, who have two games in hand but a significantly inferior goal difference, which could prove decisive as the season progresses.

St Mawgan Shine with Five-Star Display

St Mawgan kicked off February in style with an emphatic 5-0 victory at Gunnislake, lifting them to fourth place in the St Piran League Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Newquay Reserves secured a 2-0 win at St Breward in Division One, but St Newlyn East were overtaken at the top of the table by Nanpean Rovers, who edged out a 1-0 victory at Cargoll Road.

Narrow Defeat for Newquay Hornets in Rugby Clash

In rugby, Newquay Hornets fell just short in their encounter with Wadebridge Camels, suffering a 25-23 defeat in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.

The Hornets now face the away trip to St Just, while Perranporth – who were not in action this weekend – prepare to host Helston.

Newquay Storm Dominate in Netball Victory

Newquay Storm strengthened their grip on second place in Cornwall’s Division One after a commanding 62-25 victory over Bodmin.

In Division Four, Newquay’s fourth team endured a heartbreaking 42-39 loss against local rivals St Agnes.
