Newquay Town Council is urging residents and visitors not to light fires or barbecues in Priory Woods.

The authority's Environment Team has discovered several areas within the woods near St Columb Minor where large fires have been lit.

A spokesperson for Newquay Town Council reminded the public that fires and barbecues are strictly prohibited to protect the woodland and wildlife, and urged anyone witnessing anti-social behaviour to report it immediately.

In an online post, the authority highlighted the issue, asking people to help "keep our beautiful woodland and wildlife safe".
