Frequently Asked Questions
Here’s a few useful answers to some questions we get asked about Radio Newquay
When are you planning to launch?
We will be launching Radio Newquay in Autumn 2018.
How will you be funded?
Radio Newquay is a not-for-profit station, and will be funded primarily by advertising and sponsorship revenue from local companies.
Who will run Radio Newquay?
There are three Directors of Radio Newquay, who have a great deal of professional broadcasting and media experience. You can see more details about them here.
Can I get a show, or get involved?
There will be opportunities to get involved as a volunteer, as a presenter or content producer for our specialist shows, or helping with other aspects of running the station.
These positions will be recruited exclusively through our free training programme, more details of which will be released closer to launch.
I have a syndicated show. Will Radio Newquay be interested?
We are not looking for any syndicated content for Radio Newquay.
Can I submit music to be played?
At the moment, the answer is no – only because we’re a long way from launch. Our plan is to feature local musicians and bands and we will release details of how to submit music nearer the time. But for the moment we won’t be accepting any submissions.
Where will you be based?
Our studios will be based in Newquay.
How will I be able to listen?
We will be on FM across Newquay and the surrounding areas, as well as online through this website and through the Radio Newquay App. Details of frequency will be released when this has been agreed with OFCOM, the licensing authority closer to launch.
