A Charity Choral Concert : “Raise the Roof 4 Rosey” featuring Mevagissey Male Choir, Champagne Chorus, Carclaze Voices, Noteability choirs. Plus their Special Guest : Mr Harry Glasson

In life, there are things we can do to help others in need, and this is one such occasion.
Rosey suffered a life-changing accident which left her in a wheelchair. Through intensive privately-funded physiotherapy, she has regained some of her lost muscular functions, but now needs a very specialist operation not available in this country.

As our way of helping, 5 Superb Acts have come together for an evening of music to raise as much as we can for this very worthy cause.

Mevagissey Male Choir celebrates its 50th anniversary next year, and since the arrival of their new musical director, Jimmy Cannon, have gone from strength to strength.

Champagne Cornwall Chorus has been entertaining audiences for over 30 years with their superb four-part harmony group singing 'a cappella' style.

NoteAbility
is a very successful community choir based in St Austell. Formed in 2012, the choir has performed in many prestigious locations under the leadership of their musical direct, Matt Douglas.

Carclaze Voices
is also a very successful community choir which, again, is led by Matt Douglas. The 'Carclaze Voices' started life as a choir for parents and teachers at Carclaze School, but is now open to all.
They sing with a huge amount of flair and passion.

Harry Glasson really needs no introduction! Almost single-handedly, he has led the revival of singing in the county, especially when it comes to Shanties and Songs of the Sea and Cornwall. It was Harry who wrote the now universally sung anthem, Cornwall My Home.

Do join us for this wonderful feast of top-quality music, whilst at the same time helping someone in real need.

Doors Open at 6.30pm. Concert starts at 7.30pm

Tickets in advance : Standard : £8.00 ( On The Door - £10.00 )

Rosey's Story
18 months after her life changing injuries Rosey has continually defied all the odds.
Having been told that should would always use a ventilator and a feeding tube she now needs none of these.

Whilst still vulnerable with autonomic dysreflexia and a host of other conditions associated with spinal cord injury, Rosey continues to get stronger with intense privately funded physiotherapy both at home and in gym and the Merlin Centre.
Rosey can now be independent with feeding and in her a wheelchair with specially adapted wheels thanks to the fundraising efforts of her Mum who cycled from Milan to Venice to raise money for the charity “REGAIN” who provided the wheels.

The journey ahead is to gain physical strength in many different ways that she may benefit from an operation,"epidural stimulation”, that for a few hours a day she may take advantage of the spinal chord being stimulated to encourage dormant muscle groupings to be “re-fired”.
For this operation to be successful she needs to be a lot stronger.
This evening is raising money towards the £140,000 cost of the operation.
